Overview
A Fortune 500 Telecommunications company joined forces with IntelliPro to recruit software engineers and lab research assistants for two critical projects: the Device Cycle and APP Test Automation Program, and the T-Product Statement of Work (SOW) Project. This strategic alliance was crucial to secure the required skilled workforce for the project's success. Through its partnership with IntelliPro, the company gained access to a vast talent pool, streamlining the recruitment process and increasing its efficiency and effectiveness.
Challenges
The recruitment process for the company was not without its hurdles, as they faced three significant challenges.
- Location Restraints: Difficulties in hiring due to a shift in its strategy and a limited global talent pool, exacerbated by a shift in on-site location requirements. This challenge posed a significant obstacle to hiring the right talent, as the company needed professionals with the right skillset who were also willing to work on-site.
- Passive Recruitment: Intense competition for top talent, given that many qualified professionals were already employed and not actively seeking new job opportunities. This challenge required a creative approach to recruitment, ensuring that the company attracted the attention of the most suitable candidates for the role.
- Specialized Technical Knowledge: The company required software engineers with specialized technical knowledge in Android and Java, as well as lab research assistants with Automation Testing and Radio Testing skills. However, due to the competitive nature of the industry, it proved challenging for the company to attract candidates with these specific skills.
Project Details
- Device Cycle & APP Test Automation Program:
The team designed TCAP, an internal website that provided clients with valuable insights into various metrics, including call drop rate, frequency, bandwidth, lab week devices, and ta-letters. The website enabled engineers to identify and address issues with greater efficiency, resulting in a more streamlined and effective process. - T-Products (T-CAP, T-SAIL, T-SPDR):
As part of the T-Product Statement of Work (SOW) Project, the team developed a comprehensive dashboard based on specific instructions from the automation team lead. This dashboard included advanced features such as device cycle categorization, DIGITS, SMR, MR categories, and the top 5 failures per device. Other features included test environment downtime, passed execution results and status, among others. This dashboard provided a wealth of information that enabled the company to optimize its processes and ensure efficient project delivery.
Outcome
- Achieved 75% interview rate; received submissions within 24-48 hrs
